Mark’s nascent streak is underway – but his Wordle is always in Hard Mode

  1. I've started with SMILE every day for the nearly two years of Wordling and it finally paid off! I was thrilled

  2. My streak of 98 was broken with this one. I knew the word existed, but could not think of it. Plus, I made two errors of placing the A in the wrong place. Starting over with a new streak. There is always another day.

    ⬛️🟨⬛️🟨🟨 TAMER
    🟨🟨🟨⬛️⬛️ REACH
    🟨🟨🟨⬛️⬛️ EARLY
    ⬛️⬛️🟨🟩🟩 SPARE
    🟩⬛️⬛️🟩🟩 ADORE
    🟩⬛️⬛️🟩🟩 AFIRE

  3. Got this one in 2. Slate is the best starter for sure

  4. 4 guesses for me
    Alert -> Below -> Impel -> Smile

  5. I love to see these shorts even when they are not short! Thanks, Mark.

  6. I smiled cuz I got this in 3. Sorry about the 5s, Mark. 💔
There really aren't that many 5-letter words in Bohemian Rhapsody… a lot less than I would've thought, anyway.
Enjoying the word list, and thanks for the short! See you tomorrow!!

  7. My guesses: Its WORSE, a FALSE SMILE.. Got it in three!

  8. Mark’s opening word sequence currently:

Theme: The 5-letter lyrics of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, in order

“Too late, my time has come /
Sends shivers down my SPINE /
    Body's aching all the time”

  9. Got my second 1 with this, Incredibly lucky to have two 1’s in only 143 attempts!
I was reaching my first 50 streak which I thought as my first big “milestone”. So I did an anagram of “miles” with it being void and ended with Smile for another surprise 1!

  10. Got in in 3. Audio->slime->smile. Was pretty lucky with the second guess!

  11. I got this in 3, but it could’ve been 2! It was so frustrating seeing the yellow L and M 😅

  12. When I saw the answer, I complied with the instruction 🙂

    🟨⬛⬛⬛⬛ EARNT
    ⬛🟨🟨🟨⬛ BLESS
    🟩🟨🟨⬛⬛ SELFY
    🟩🟨⬛🟩🟩 SIDLE
    🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SMILE

  13. I always get caught out by simple words like these because I always assume they must've been the word before at some point.

  14. A rare 2 for me

  15. This one had a lot of options. I was lucky and got it in 3, while my sister didn’t get it at all, even with having the middle and the last letter from her first guess

  16. SENDS-SLATE-SMILE. I must say, the SLATE, LEAST, etc. combination of letters is often very powerful. Next up we’ll start with SPINE, which is a pretty decent starting word. Hopefully it will work out today!

  17. Starting off with STALE was sooo useful here lol

  18. I had this in three – lucky second guess of SLIME (after I started with MONEY) is what did it for me.

  19. I got the I in the second guess and had slime as my 3rd guess. Never had a green yellow green yellow green before.

  20. It's a 5 — but the streak is at 3, so that's a victory for 3s today anyway. 😸

  21. My fourth guess after his first three was slime. So I would have been at the dreaded five as well. 😢

  22. this was my third wordle (I think back to back? or close enough) where I guessed the anagram first: SHRUB before BRUSH, ALLOY before LOYAL, and SLIME before SMILE.

  23. Better smile over slime, even though it earned a five!😅

Pretty pleased with my luck on this one. Went from a single green and yellow to all greens. Certainly made me smile.

  25. Tried some different words today (I didn't realize my second word was actually a word!), but they still helped me to a 3.

    ⬛️⬛️🟨⬛️🟨 CREAM
    🟨🟨⬛️⬛️🟨 METHS
    🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SMILE

Headed toward 💯 streak! 97 and counting! 🤞🤞🤞

  26. My wife has smile as her starting word. She is still smiling as it took me four. She now starts with laugh😅

  27. Here's my path to a 5: Sword->StarE->SpIcE->

  28. I love these vids. Maybe one day I'll play it myself 😛

  29. I got this one in two, cos I started with ALIEN which gave me the L & E in the wrong positions and the I in the middle.
It was either SLIME or SMILE for me too, and I did the same as Mark and chose SMILE!
