The February Wordle Tournament | Day 2
Wordle Tournament Rules
Rise to the Equation
February 2023
***********************
**GENERAL RULES**
1. Players must submit their solution path, not just the number of guesses.
Correct: “I got WORRY in 3: SLATE, CORNY, WORRY”
Incorrect: “I got ADOPT in 2!”
2. Players must submit their solutions on time. If you are a few days late, please post your solution in the matching video of the Wordle you missed, not a different one. This prevents me from combing through comments from multiple videos in order to find them.
3. A “red 4” will be entered in the results spreadsheet as a placeholder for players missing their solutions for a particular day. If you accumulate 3 or more of these red 4’s, you’ll be eliminated from the tournament unless you post ALL MISSING RESULTS within 3 days of the last missing result (but no later than Feb 25, 2023). One additional occurrence after that and you’ll be permanently eliminated.
4. Players can play in any mode of their choosing (Normal, Hard, or Ultra Hard)
5. Bots (Scoredle, NYT Wordle Bot, SmartyBot, etc) and semi-Bots (humans like Robdle who play Wordle using computer assisted devices like a spreadsheet or computer program) are allowed in the tournament as a fun target, but only unassisted human players will be competing in the official standings.
6. Rise to the Equation will provide an update on the standings once a week.
**FAIR PLAY RULES**
PRIOR to solving the Daily Wordle, Players will NOT:
1 – Look up the answer for that day, or for any future days
2 – Get any hints online, from friends, or from any other source
DURING the Daily Wordle, Players will NOT:
1 – Receive any assistance from another human
2 – Use any online or homemade cheat tools to narrow the search in order to optimize their guesses
3 – Look up any past Wordle answers
AFTER the Daily Wordle solve, Players will NOT:
1 – Play the game on another account/device and then post those new and improved results
2 – Leak the information to any contestants in the Rise to the Equation tournament
Additional FAIR PLAY Rules:
(A) Players will NOT post a phony result in order to improve their position in the standings.
(B) Players will post the exact number of guesses used DURING their solve and swear that they are honest, truthful, and accurate.
(C) If a player gets “spoiled” for the Daily Wordle, the player will be honest in the comments (“I got spoiled on today’s Wordle.”) and accept a score of 4 guesses for that day.
(D) Players’ results may be reviewed using a Monte Carlo simulation. Highly improbable results may result in the ejection of the player from the tournament.
