I think you were thinking of the word VOGUE. I didn't know VOUGE was a word, but I learned something: "The meaning of VOUGE is a long-handled pike of the later medieval period resembling a halberd." 🙂 (If "halberd" clarifies things for you, you're way ahead of me!) 😆
Another day, another four-word solve for me. Here's how it went down.
LEARN ("E" in position, "N" out of position)
FENCE ("E" in position, "N" remaining out of position)
BEING ("E" and "I" in position, "N" and "G" out of position)
NEIGH (With only one place left for the "N" to go and then only one position for the "G", fourth guess was easy, giving me a four-word solve.
CHAIN -> NIGHT -> NEIGH, I had some Good Letters, I know I was gonna say Donut and I forgot too LOLOL c:
Anyone who got this in one try is a horse.
Foamy neigh
I have only gotten wordle in 2 tries .about 6 different times.
audio, crime, spiel, feint, neigh
I nominate the term “Wordle Hurdle” as in There was something to overcome and be explained about the previous days video.
Akin to “Connections Correction” and much needed for the VOGUE/VOUGE and NEIGH/NIGH issues 😊
ADIEU – SNORT – GLYPH – NEIGH
WHOA!! My first Unscramble. 🐴 😁
The word you pronounced is spelled "nigh", as in "The time is "nigh" that you realize that "neigh" [nay] is typically the word ascribed to the sound that a horse makes. 🐴😁
Well, you pronounced bagel correctly at least 😛
A quite upsetting day for me, ⬇ explains it. Well done Doug!

I got in 3.

Being
Neigh
Looking forward to a connections corrections tomorrow about the pronunciation of NEIGH…you pronounced it thinking it was the word NIGH I believe. It's just NEIGH as in the sound a horse makes.
Stumped on this word after the first 2 words: LATER, SCION. WHINE? Nope, used. BEING? Nope, used. After much contemplation, I thought for sure it was KNIFE. Nope. Then, I finally got it on the fourth try. I overlooked Eying and Veiny. My streak is at 916.
I took a hiatus from watching you for awhile, but now I'm back! Do RAMEN!
Good solve, Doug! I got this one in three with a little bit of luck. 🍀🤞

I used NEIGH for my start word yesterday…
BAGEL, GRIME, FEIGN, NEIGH for me.
First comment! Can you start with the word Raven? It would be so cool!
I believe it is pronounced "nay" like a horse. The word you pronounced and used in a sentence is "nigh".
WHEEL
HEAVY
METHS
BENCH
NEIGH
An fairly easy birdie for me – CHEAP, HEIST, NEIGH (as in nay like a horse). I was confused by Doug's guess vouge as I cannot find that as a meaningful word in English. We have a similar word spelt different but pronounced the same – vogue – meaning something currently in fashion.
Another par four. After STARE and DOILY, I thought the answer might be "being" but I discovered that was already a solution. So I went for BENCH instead, even though I knew it was not the answer. After that I knew it was xEIxH with an N somewhere. It didn't take much to come up with the word NEIGH.
bagel surge weigh neigh
ADIEU, SHORT, NEIGH.
Par 4!!…. Bicky (British slang for biscuit), Stain, Wring, Neigh (as in horse whinny).
I like using an option not on the Wordle list for a few reasons. Of course, receiving a hole-in-one would just be plain fun!!! Also, when going through the game, eliminating options by checking the list makes a huge difference in alleviating the stress. Your options can be cut down to a very reasonable amount. But, mostly, I feel those 6 guesses are precious, and I don't want to use any of them knowingly inserting an incorrect answer. To each his/her own. In the meantime, I'll ponder a good starter for tomorrow. 🙂
I believe the word “neigh” is pronounced “nay”, as in the sound that horses make. The horse neighs.
As Doug provinces it it is spelled nigh meaning short, the answer is the sound of a horse, also vouge is a weapon, as he prounced iit is vogue as in the Madonna song
Not sure you noticed, but you played VOUGE not VOGUE, different pronuncation and meaning.
Well, today ends my streak, which was exactly 200! Not too bad, 200 wordles in a row. Came down to BEING and NEIGH on my 6th guess, and I ended up BEING wrong on the 50/50!
Got very lucky this time. BAGEL, GROPE, NEIGH
"…or pronounced as a A as in…"
I believe you're thinking of the word nigh, pronounced with a long I.
ASKEW
TENTH
NEIGH -Oh, and because I'm not sure it's been mentioned enough, "Neigh" is actually pronounced "Nay" and is commonly considered to be an approximation of the sound a horse makes. What you were pronouncing is actually spelled "NIGH" (unless you're talking about the "Science Guy", in which case it's "NYE", which is an even WORSE Wordle guess).
READY , BENCH, NEIGH
You're aiming to be trendy (VOGUE) but ended up with wielding a medieval long pike (VOUGE)…horses neigh but the pronunciation you used was nigh correct. It's a NAY NAY grade for you today, Doug.
To make amends, I would like you to listen to this song on loop for the next 15 minutes…
